Tulsa’s newest bank is the work of two brothers with a long history in the local banking industry.
Brothers Anthony “Tony” Davis and Eric Davis, former principals with F&M Bank, are now running MapleMark Bank.
Tony Davis is the chairman and CEO, and Eric Davis is the president.
“Just as in our previous bank, we are committed to building strong, long-term relationships with our bank clients by listening to their vision, then tailoring bespoke, end-to-end financial solutions to help them fulfill their business and personal needs,” Tony Davis said.
MapleMark was formed last year with the purchase of First National Bank of Edgewood, which was a $23 million bank in Edgewood, Texas, about 60 miles east of Dallas.
The bank has about $180 million in total assets and has a branch and headquarters in Dallas. More than $90 million was brought in during a recent capital raise.
“We had really good reception so far,” said Will Richardson, Tulsa market president. “We want to grow and bring great products and the service Tulsa deserves in the banking industry.”
A full-service branch is set to open next month on the first floor of the Southern Hills Tower, 2431 E. 61st St. Work on the 5,300-square-foot bank is underway.
Richardson started his banking career at F&M about 27 years ago and then worked at Bank of Oklahoma before helping start Citizen’s Bank.
“I feel the banking industry has changed so much over the last few years that the need for brick and mortar in the banking industry is kind of going away,” he said. “With the technology that’s out there, you really don’t have to go to the bank if you don’t want to.”
The bank will focus on commercial and private banking.
“We are building a beautiful facility for those people who do want or need to go to the bank, but as far as having multiple branches, that’s going away,” Richardson said.
Prosperity purchased F&M Bank in 2013. At the time, Tony and Eric Davis held the same positions at F&M as they do at MapleMark.
F&M started out as Farmers & Merchants State Bank in 1946.
When it was purchased by Prosperity, F&M operated 13 banking offices in Tulsa, Dallas and Oklahoma City.
